What am I currently reading?

My internet has been down the past week so I have not gotten a chance to post.  Finally, my internet company replaced my modem.  You would have thought I would get a lot of reading done since I was having internet withdrawals, but honestly I haven’t felt like doing much of anything.

The Longings of Wayward GirlsThe First Days (As the World Dies, #1)Something Borrowed, Someone Dead: An Agatha Raisin Mystery (Agatha Raisin, #24)Hard to Handle (Love in the Balance #2)

Lost my internet connection last night so I’m posting this late.  I did make some progress this past week on The Longings of Wayward Girls and The First Days.  I know they’ve been on this list for awhile.

2013 Thankfully Reading Weekend Wrap-Up Post

Update:  I didn’t do too bad for this.  I forgot to post my goals the other day, but oh well.  I made it through 2 books and 1 graphic novel.  I am partially through 3 other books as well.  My son had my Kindle for a little awhile so that’s why I started another book.

This was hosted at Jenn’s Bookshelves.

My (Tentative) List To Choose From:

  1. The Last Boyfriend (Inn Boonsboro #2) by Nora Roberts
  2. Frankenstein: Prodigal Son by Dean Koontz
  3. Silent City by Alex Segura (started today – 10%)
  4. Something Borrowed, Someone Dead by M. C. Beaton – (22% done)
  5. The Longings of Wayward Girls by Karen Brown (17% – I really need to finish this) (made it to 26%)
  6. The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
  7. Hard to Handle by Jessica Lemmon
  8. The Perfect Hope by Nora Roberts (15% done)

Book Beginnings and Friday 56 – 11/29/13

Book Beginnings on Friday is now hosted by Rose City Reader. The Friday 56 is hosted at Freda’s Voice.    I noticed these memes and thought it would be interesting to do both.  Check out the links above for the rules and for the posts of the participants each week.  This is the book I’m currently reading.

Silent City by Alex Segura

Silent City

Book Beginnings:

The microwave beep – announcing that her popcorn was done – startled Kathy Bentley for a second.  The noise was also enough to jolt her small gray cat, Nigel from her lap and tip over the little bit of white wine still residing in her glass.  Kathy sighed and plopped the glass on the table separating her couch from the television.  She paused her well-worn DVD of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and sauntered into the kitchen, where Nigel sat waiting, eyes wide, wondering if whatever was coming out  of the microwave could, just maybe, be for him.

Friday 56:

“I’m going to enjoy destroying you.”  Pete felt Contreras’s spittle hit the back of his neck as he closed his eyes, trying to shut out the pain.  What a failure.  What a disaster he had made of his life.  This was how it was going to end?

2013 Thankfully Reading Weekend Kick-Off!

I found this through Tif Talks Books, one of the blogs I follow.  It’s hosted by Jenn’s Bookshelves.  I thought this would be the perfect ending to November and the NetGalley November Challenge.  I’m starting a day late , but I didn’t get much reading done on Thanksgiving anyway.  The kids and I went to my mom’s and enjoyed dinner with (most) of my family.  Then we took a nap before coming home.  All of the food was delicious and I ate way too much, but everybody had a good time.  Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

I did finish a book today so I’m counting it for this.

My (Tentative) List:

  1. The Last Boyfriend (Inn Boonsboro #2) by Nora Roberts
  2. Frankenstein: Prodigal Son by Dean Koontz
  3. Silent City by Alex Segura (started today – 10%)

NetGalley November Update 11/10/13

Update 1:  I am currently at 52% of reading Until It Hurts To Stop and 17% of The Longings of Wayward Girls.

I signed up for NetGalley November to get caught up on my NetGalley requests.  I’ve gotten a little behind and I would like to get caught so I can request more of course.  I have 19 that need read by December.  So I’m choosing Level Hard – 11 – 15 books.  This is hosted by K-Books, Bookish Treasures, & A Daydreamer’s Thoughts.

Here’s my list:
